I have developed my own mast raising system using a gin pole with block and tackle.

I found a YouTube video of a similar system but the video left out many of the details. Here is the link to the video:

One of the things that I am unsure of in this video is the mast roller system which seems to be something that is mounted to the rudder where the tiller is normally mounted that stands vertically to support the mast.

If anyone has seen this video, I would appreciate your feedback. Also, if you have a mast raising system that you have put together, I would love to hear about it as I am always looking for new ideas to improve my own system.

There have been a few posts about them, if you do a search of the forum. I've been using my system for a few years, and it allows me to raise and lower the mast myself, although, it is always better with at least one other person there.

In the video, he doesn't have a pushpit. I just have a 4x4 tied onto mine. That support crutch might be better though.

I thought I had a full post about the system I use, but this is all I could find.
